Buying the Dress
3/22/01
Ok, now you've checked what styles fit you, what dresses are made
exceptionally, and you're ready to start spendin'!
Go right ahead! Choose the dress that makes you feel the best.
Whichever dress makes you feel most like a princess is the perfect one for
you!
Be sure you check out your dress in many types of lighting. Sometimes
the lighting in a store's dressing room is bleak or manufactored to hide
imperfections in the dress. Lighting can really fool the eye, so check out
your dress is a wide area, or preferably, right outside the store before you
return home.
When you get home from buying your dress that night, be sure to hang it
somewhere where you can see it often. Looking at the dress will make you
anticipate the night when you will once again put it on.
After you've had the dress out for a night or two, be sure to return it
to the large dress bag it came in. If the dress you purchased did not come
with a dress bag, put it into a garment bag or use trashbags to fully cover
the dress. Keeping a dress covered keeps it in good condition and assures
that no one will drop, rip, or ruin your gown.
When spending, be sure to check with your parents. This is a large
amount of cash, and should definately be thought about before they receive
their Visa invoice. Be sure you both understand exactly how much they expect
you to pay before you actually shell out any cash. Buying a $500 dress may
prove to be a bad choice later when you're parents inform you that you have
to foot the entire bill.
