Buying Now Saves Worry Later
2/22/01
By now you've all noticed the incredible sales at every store. What's
up? The stores are attempting to get rid of their overstocked winter items.
These items are still in new condition and are just begging for you to buy
them! You still have many cold weeks to wear the items. Here are some tips
for your fabulous finds.
1) Don't buy things that don't match your wardrobe.
See that bright orange sweater? Don't buy it unless you have
some pants or a skirt that you know will match it. Otherwise, your great buy
becomes a waste because you will never wear it. Also, don't plan on matching
odd-colored items. Sometimes I even find it hard to match a black shirt to
black pants. This only makes it harder to match that bright orange sweater
to anything. If you can't wear it tomorrow and look great, leave it on the
rack.
2) Wait as long as possible.
I know it seems like torture, but waiting an extra week for that
shirt may save you up to ten bucks! The stores really want to get rid of
these out-of-season items, and their left-over is your bargain. (TIP -- Only
wait to buy items that you like, but aren't in love with. Sometimes, the
items do get purchased by other shoppers. If you absolutely love that skirt,
and it has a fair price, buy it now or you may regret it).
3) Be reasonable.
Don't buy something just because it's cheap. Sure, the price is
a definate bonus, but it shouldn't be the only reason you buy something. If
you would pay full price for the item, it's probably worth it.
Have fun shopping!
