Fabulous Fall Accessories
11/08/99
Hello Again Girls!
This week I'd like to touch base on what's HOT and what's NOT this fall in accessories. After combing all the coolest jewelry stores, I have the low-down on the coolest trends in town.
My first find was called a belly chain. These usually range from about five to ten dollars. After searching the store, I managed to find a rack that cost only two dollars, quite a nice break off the original price!
Anyway, these "belly bracelets" are ultra-mod and for the definitely daring. They come in many sizes, so don't let the thought of a large waist frighten you away.
I found that I really like the belly chain. It worked well to jazz up plain short shirts with jeans, and it also looked really cute strung through the loops of hip hugging pants.
The next trend I really liked was the bra strap headband. The latest trends in these headbands are the hand-beaded varieties. They come in many colors and are fairly cheap.
However, be warned - they don't often hold thick hair off the face for long periods of time. The slippery material also sometimes makes them hard to work with. I liked the headband that had elastic on the bottom half, giving the look of the "bra strap" with the ease of a regular headband.
I also liked the "illusion necklaces" I found. These were cheapest in the chain jewelry stores, like Claires and Afterthoughts. (These stores also had the most variety) I found that some necklaces were made with string, while others were made with stretch clear elastic.
If at all possible, opt for the necklaces with the elastic in it. (They will stretch when you tug at them.) These necklaces will last far longer and will give you more for your money.
Well that's it for this week girls! Next week I'll be discussing the hottest new trends in nails! Hope to see you there…
