Fashion Crazy!
5/14/00
Hello to all you fashion-crazed girlie girls!
What's hot and sticky and makes us long for air-condition malls? SUMMER!
During this awesome season, however, many of you guys seem to be wondering
what to wear to make you look as hot as the weather. I have a few ideas to
solve all your problems --
- Capri pants - These are still in from last year (who would have known?)
The lengths this year are a tad bit longer, inching down a bit past the
knees. This year's styles also seem to be looser and less fitted than last
year. Never fear if you are drowning in last year's capris - they are still
completely in and I would recommend wearing them in this hot weather! On
the other hand, if you don't own any, make a quick pair by cutting an old
pair of pants to the length you desire. Then you can either add some fancy
trim to the bottom (visit a craft store) or hem them with a quick run through
the sewing machine.
- Shorts - Seems to me that the shorts just keep getting shorter each year!
The fashion this year seem to be dark denim jeans with white embrodiery on
the pockets. If you have an old pair of jeans, you can dye them with RIT dye
(about $10 at most craft stores). Otherwise, shorts are pretty basic - get
yourself a black and a white pair, along with some jean pairs, and you should
be set for anything!
- Shirts - The most popular piece of clothing out there is by far the
tank-top. Unlike a pair or shorts or capris, everyone I know owns at least
three tank tops. This years styles are strappy and skimpy. Open backs are
really in, as are halter tops with tiny ties. Many styles cross the straps
in front or back and have a dipped back. Definately buy a few of these -
they will keep you cool, yet hot all summer!
I hope you enjoy these new summer fashions. Most of all, be yourself.
Search for pieces that you like and buy a few. Have fun shopping and keep
writing!
