Where to Wear Your Accessories
10/11/99
Hello all you fashion hungry girls! Welcome to my
column --
Accessories to the Rescue. In this section you'll learn what
and where each
accessory belongs. I would also like all you "fashion divas" to
write to me
and tell me what you would like to see in this column.
Today we talk about the ultimate accessory -- make-up.
There's a few
basic rules to make-up. Most of them are very simple, and here they are:
1)Don't over-do too many features. --The idea is to play
up one
prominent feature on your face (like your eyes, cheeks, or lips)
then to
downplay the rest.
2)Go for Matte lips in the Fall. --Matte lips look
too muddy for
the hot summer months, but they look superb in the Fall.
3)Go for pale colors on the eyes now. --This is
definitely the hot
look! Apply the cream or shadow close to the eyelids and smudge
up to the
crease of your eyes.
4)Go for rosy, dewy looking blush. --Creams work much
better for these
types of colors, just be sure to buy a long lasting formula.
5)For oily or normal skin, you may chose to skip the
foundation. --Because sometimes
it can feel heavy or look pasty once the sweat starts a pourin'!
For dry
skin, apply a tinted moisturizers to hide slight imperfections
and give a
skin-kissed glow.
6)Keep the make-up natural looking. --A little is a lot
in the summer!
7)After all make-up is applied, apply loose powder. -- to
cool the face
and set the make-up.
With practice, make-up can become one of the most fun
and versatile
accessories. Use it wisely!
Hope you have fun trying out all the fun make-up ideas.
Be daring! Be dashing! Be a
make-up diva!
