No More Worrying About Gettin' Your Skirt Flipped Up!

Remember when you were in grade school and you used to rock the shorts-under-the-skirt thang because
that annoying little boy would always come around and flip it up? Well, what you were doin' back on
the playground is now a fashion statement of today. You can take that as-you were hip waaaay before
this trends came out!!
Last week I ventured down to the Blackalicious/Del the Funky Homosapien show down in Solana Beach,
San Diego and I saw a plethora of style, but one thing really caught my eye. What started out on
the jungle gym, moved on with Bjork and now Erykah Badu has finally emerged onto the streets of
everyday casual and hip hop trends. With capris being the hottest item for the spring and summer,
they take a bit of an exotic flair underneath your favorite sleeveless dress. This bohemian/Eastern
look can be accented with vintage headscarves and a ton of silver bangles. I think the key to this
whole fashion statement is accessories!! Remember, ladies, accesorize! accesorize! accesorize!- It'll
make the outfit look more original!
To get more sporty, try a spaghetti strap plain dress and a plain
straight-leg pair of capris with a pair of colorful track shoes and matching bandana.
Instead of a plain dress or the plain capris and tee ensemble, try sassing up things by layering.
Even though we're way past the Grunge Age, layering still looks ultra hip if done just right!
Try to avoid mixing patterns when layering and stay away from too many brightly colored items at
once- wearing one bright thing will funktafy your entire outfit.
Another twist on this that provies
more versatility is the skirt or wrap over the capris.
